So as you may have noticed there is no new Cryptozoo this week and there wasn’t one last week either. I figure it would be best to put something up here explaining why that is.
Basically: Cryptozoo is on hiatus. Indefinitely. Hopefully just for the summer, but maybe longer, who knows. Why? Well, the funny thing about working on a time intensive creative project: life tends to get in the way. I’m afraid I can’t go into much more detail than that.
I can tell you that I am devastated by the lull in CZ-related postings. Cryptozoo was and hopefully will be again the most rewarding, challenging, engaging, and fulfilling thing in my life. I loved writing it, brainstorming ideas for it, arguing with Ryan over it, telling people about it, and in general just hanging out with these characters in their crazy little world.
I’d like to apologize for this hiatus occurring smack-dab in the middle of a story arc. “Night of the Squids” was a story I was really excited to tell and one that hopefully you guys were enjoying reading. Alas.
I’d also like to thank all of the readers—friends, family members, facebook folks, tumblr followers and the wonderful strangers who stumbled across the comic and decided it was worth their time—for reading it and posting it on their personal social media outlets. It meant more to me than you will ever know.
That’s all I really have to say for now. Hopefully Cryptozoo will rise again in a better, stronger, faster fashion.
Thank you all again.
